Twisted Hate is the third installment in Ana Huang’s self-published Twisted series, which consists of four novels following the interconnected love stories of four friends: Ava Chen (Twisted Love), Bridget von Ascheberg (Twisted Games), Jules Ambrose (Twisted Hate), and Stella Alonso (Twisted Lies). The Twisted novels can be read as standalones, but Huang recommends recommending them in order for the best experience. As a standalone, Twisted Hate spoils Twisted Love and Twisted Games.
Twisted Love follows the romance between Josh Chen’s younger sister, Ava Chen, and his then best friend, Alex Volkov. The novel fleshes out Josh and Ava’s abusive father, Michael, and reveals why he is imprisoned in Twisted Hate. Twisted Love also features Josh and Jules’s interactions before Twisted Hate and introduces relevant characters such as Jules’s friends, Bridget and Stella, and Rhys Larson, Bridget’s bodyguard-turned-love interest in Twisted Games. Twisted Games fleshes out Bridget and Rhys’s relationship, which culminates in their wedding in Twisted Hate.
